
What is Paal?
Paal, which directly translates to coconut milk, in our native Tamil language, aims to redefine the cooking experience. We offer coconut-based pantry staples that represent our spin on household baking and cooking ingredients. We source our coconuts directly from small farmers that uphold practices of sustainability and equity. Our products are vegan, gluten-free, and certified organic, so you can experience healthier, more sustainable ways to indulge in your favorite treats or enhance any recipe.
It all started during our childhood summers visiting our family in Tamil Nadu, India. Our family has been farming for generations, and we grew up watching our grandmother cook with fresh ingredients picked straight from our family’s farm. The food tasted better, and our stomachs were happier.
Fast forward to our adulthood, when Gita developed irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and spent years trying to find a cure. We both decided to rework our diets and go back to our roots to learn the health benefits of cooking with clean ingredients.
We created Paal to harness the power of one of the most versatile and nutritious South Indian cooking ingredients—the coconut. We are two sisters on a mission to bring you fresh, great quality cooking products while empowering the people and communities who grow them.
